Horoscopes: August 2025 – DSA Convention Edition

  • This month is a doozy, truly. Another astrologer wrote in their take on the month: “be the show or see the show” and…yeah! This month, those of us who have sat back are asked to stand tall, and those of us who have had our time in the spotlight are being asked to take a bit of a break, and all for the sake of cohesion, or at least this writer hopes. Here our the major transits of the month:
    • Mars in Libra 8/6
      • The planet of aggression in the sign of people-pleasing– what could go wrong? Be sure not to pick your battles too much during this transit, resentment has never done a movement any good. Instead, consider what greater a weapon our minds are when we put them together. 
    • Full moon in Aquarius 8/9
      • Although the moon feels a bit chilly in the Saturn/Uranus-ruled sign of Aquarius, it does help us put our egos to the side and take a peek— and a leap (hello Sun in Leo)– toward the survival of our species If that’s not at the core of our work, what are we doing? The Moon said it, not me! 
    • Mars opposite saturn 8/9
      • The old guard doesn’t go down without a fight as the new world struggles to be born, blah blah blah. This transit looks rough but we know this story. Like I said, don’t pick your battles too much, the system has atrophied beyond repair. We just need to effectively aim our strategy and how hard could that be with Mars to its detriment (ha ha)? 
    • Venus conjunct Jupiter 8/11 
      • WOWOWOW 
      • Fireworks and juicy love…. The Two Benefics are seen kissing in the sky! Venus, planet of one-to-one relationship conjoins with Jupiter, Planet of knowledge and expansion in the nourishing sign of Cancer. This part just feels good. It’s an excellent precursor to the moon, Cancer’s rulership landing at zero degrees of Virgo on August 23rd, a potent new start in the area of your (or the USA ‘s or DSA’s or any) chart. 
    • New Moon in Virgo 8/23
      • This lunation asks us to interrogate our everyday behaviors. Are you doing what you could? Are you remembering what those before you did (the Moon represents Ancestors)? Is your inner critic telling the truth? Does it matter? All matters of physical health will be put into question, but don’t freak out. Instead, see the next six months as a chance to transform your relationship to health, especially if that includes Eugenicist and ableist understandings of what it means to live a healthy life or take care of your shell.
